Manage and issue purchase orders (POs) for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring timely delivery to meet manufacturing and office needs.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to confirm that all purchased materials meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Work closely with the Planning team to proactively address potential shortages or urgent needs, avoiding last-minute rushes for critical materials.
Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favourable pricing, ensuring competitive costs and long-term partnerships.
Monitor supplier performance by tracking delivery timelines and product quality, ensuring consistent and uninterrupted material supply for production.
Identify and source alternative suppliers to implement cost-saving strategies and minimize potential stock obsolescence or overstocking.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in purchasing and procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish strategic partnerships and manage supplier relationships effectively.
Knowledge of inventory management, material specifications, and cost-saving initiatives.
Proficient in using purchasing systems and tools for order processing, price management, and generating reports.
