VFT is reinventing vanadium redox flow technology, with a vision to develop the cheapest and most scalable vanadium redox flow batteries in the world. Responsibilities:

• We are developing flow battery cell stack which requires the design of multiple mechanical components and performing structural analysis, load calculation, etc. The selected candidate will work on these areas
• You will be involved in various everyday activities such as the sourcing and procurement of different mechanical and electrical components and writing reports
• Deal with supplier capability
• Work with the injection moulding supplier on the plastic parts that are going to injection
• Overseas travel when needed

• Train, supervise, and assist Junior Designers and intern
• Work with test engineers to improve the cell stack design accordingly
• Ensure given tasks are completed within the given timeline
• Travelling to factories or other locations to take measurements and to observe the way productivity is carried out.
• Doing calculations on the prospective cell stack prior to completing the technical drawings.

• Creating prototypes, testing them, and analysing the results.
• Submitting drawings to relevant stakeholders as well as production and or purchasing.
• Providing support during the entire building process to ensure that the design specifications are met.
• Analyzing problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommending solutions.

• Minimum bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of factory plastic part design experience
• Proven ability to complete tasks given independently
• Fluent speaking and writing of both English & Mandarin
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• 
  Specific Knowledge:
  
  • Must be proficient in using Solidworks 3D design and software PDM
  • Have knowledge of metal and plastic materials
  • Must have a working knowledge of Solidworks drawing template
  • Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T)
  • Working experience in plastic mold and knowledge of plastic simulation
  • Knowledge in design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
