Who is the Product Development Manager?

The Product Development team is at the forefront of understanding the market landscape of device protection, insurance and non-insurance, extended warranties, financing, and trade-ins. They will spearhead the development of new tech lifecycle and protection products, clearly articulating their value and positioning in the market.

The Product Development team is responsible for understanding the market landscape, emerging product trends, sales channels, and competitors. They will lead the development of new product offerings, ensuring these offerings are clearly defined and designed, articulated with a sales roadmap for inclusion within individual client solution offerings. A significant part of the product management role is to ensure new products can be launched, localised and managed using Asurion\'s core technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor and analyse the regional market landscape, sales channels, emerging product trends, and competitors.
  • Work with the account / country teams to conduct regular market research through inhouse and external resources to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
Product Development:
  • Continually develop and enhance product offerings based on market and business insights.
  • Clearly articulate the benefits and features of new product offerings.
  • Owner of core product pitch decks, process flows and high-level technical requirements.
  • Ensure that the product offerings can be integrated as a component of a full client solution.
Collaboration with the Client Solutions Team and Clients:
  • Develop a strong partnership with the Client Solutions team to ensure that product offerings are localized for each country and client.
  • Support the client solutions team with presentation collaterals, demos and technical requests.
Collaboration with the Client Program Management Team:
  • Provide support and insights to the Client Program Management team during the localization process and the deployment of new client programs.
  • Troubleshoot and lead development efforts where client specific solutions are required due to localisation or regulation.
Technology Platform Development:
  • Take a leadership role in the development requirements of the product technology platform that will be used across different countries and clients.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the functional requirements of the platform are met and that the customer experience (CX) is optimized.
  • Oversee the testing and deployment of the platform, ensuring it meets quality standards and business objectives.
  • Provide a roadmap of product development for internal and external stakeholders, identifying and prioritizing new enhancements and client requests.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, including IT, sales, marketing, and client solutions, to ensure seamless product development and deployment.
  • Engage with external clients, partners and stakeholders to gather key insights and feedback.
Here\'s what you\'ll bring to the team:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of the regional market landscape and emerging product trends.
  • Background in telecommunications, insurance, or financial services an advantage
  • Experience in technology platform development and collaboration with IT teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • With strong project management capabilities and has the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering optimal CX and innovative and forward-thinking.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the insurance, warranty, and trade-in sectors is helpful.
