Role Summary

Labs operate as an innovation agency within LSEG. We bring the expertise in customer-focus, rapid iteration, engineering and data science working closely with subject matter experts in the business units to define, trial and de-risk products and services to for new customers and new markets.

In this role, the Innovation Product Manager will be driven, resourceful and capable of giving direction to the product/solution design with a user first mindset. You will be an individual contributor and demonstrate the art of collaboration and influence with a hybrid working data science, design and engineering teams for pushing the innovation envelope. You will exhibit & communicate the behaviours of a modern design thinking driven organization that is lean, agile and most importantly customer & market obsessed. You will work closely with and report to Lead Product Manager - Innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage the execution and delivery of LSEG Labs projects from their inception through to their closure.
• Agile project scoping, prioritization, planning and execution within timelines and to agreed project briefs. Define, set up and run project sprints. This includes coordination of the design, data science and engineering colleagues.
• Plan and resource projects in conjunction with Labs and engineering, data science and design leads
• Present to external audiences, large and small, to showcase the work of Labs and evangelise innovation
• Assist in the communication of project work to senior leadership to solicit internal support for labs projects
• Build the relationship with key stakeholders across different business lines to work on the product strategy, set the product goals, roadmap and success metrics.
• Engage with subject matter experts, internal and external, to understand the problem space and test solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in a product management, building new products from the ground up that leverage emerging tech (eg ML, NLP), including idea management, scoping, road mapping, prioritisation, delivery and measurement of success.
• Experience building and validating business hypotheses through direct interaction with stakeholders and customers while framing business opportunities for the company and the problem-solution fit for customers
• Excellent communicator and relationship builder who leads with transparency, collaboration, influence and team spirit (internally and externally).
• Proactive risk and issue identification, mitigation and management, action tracking, team collaboration tools etc.
• Bring technical knowledge to engage in planning and agreeing sprint goals with other team members in data science, engineering and design functions.
• Demonstrable experience in running proof-of-concepts or early access programmes

Desired Skills

• Experience working in financial services
• Experience in Sustainable Finance/Sustainable Investing/ESG fields and/or experience with data categories like climate, geospatial, earth observation etc.
• Good understanding about a range of technologies and techniques relevant for data science and full-stack development, including data science concepts such as machine learning or NLP
• Knowledge of LSEG - businesses, strategy, markets and competitive landscape
• Hands on experience and / or formal training in agile & user centric product management / development. Formal training in design thinking would be an advantage
• MBA or Graduate Degree in Finance, Sustainability, Economics, Computer Science or Statistics or other related discipline. Equivalent industry experience would be considered instead of formal education
