Responsible for the the oversight of all Markets & WMS APAC\'s products, services and processes in relation to reputational, operational and/or financial risk. This includes identify and assess any associated risks and provide innovative solutions to mitigate them if/where relevant. It also involves to develop, maintain, optimise, implement and conduct effective risk governance and controls framework according to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Product & Services Risk Manager is a member of the Strategy & Business Operations (SG) team and shall endeavour to fulfil the ambitions defined and outlined for the team.

The incumbent shall act as support for the Business and Risk Management team of Markets & Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) APAC with a focus on risk-related matters. The incumbent requires the oversight of all Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC\xe2\x80\x99s products, services and processes in relation to reputational, operational and/or financial risk. He/she shall identify and assess any associated risks and provide innovative solutions to mitigate them if/where relevant. The role shall develop, maintain, optimise, implement and conduct effective risk governance and controls framework according to regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role shall provide support pertaining to regular internal reviews as well as internal controls which include control design, tool administrative matters as well as test executions. The incumbent shall also build highly effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and its latest products and services to optimise service to clients.

The Products & Services Risk Manager reports to Head of Products Risk Management.

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

People Management

• Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment
• Motivate and provide guidance/feedback to other team members to improve overall performance

Client Management (internal & external)

• Maintain a continuous and collaborative relationship with the relevant stakeholders and ensure they receive clear guidance and information on key risk topics
• Provide risk-related advisory (i.e. risk analysis, mitigation, etc.) for new products, services and projects
• Act as Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC liaison for all risk-related matters (i.e. operational incidents, Internal Audit, risk and control self-assessment, etc.)
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to analyse, identify and develop new solutions to optimise/automate control processes with a focus on risk management and mitigation measures
• Conduct trainings on risk related topics

Business Management

• Work to fulfil the ambitions of the team defined by Head Strategy & Business Operations (SG)
• Establish and maintain the Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC risk governance and controls framework (i.e. policies, guidelines, self-assessments, first line-of-defense checks, etc.), ensuring that such controls meet regulatory requirements and internal policy guidelines and that they are reviewed regularly for effectiveness and consistency
• Support the control design and administration of the internal control tool (e.g. creating new controls, editing existing controls and assigning roles as required), including the performance of various internal controls of the division centrally
• Proactively identify and assess key operational and business risks and, if/where relevant, propose solutions to manage/mitigate identified risks
• Monitor the development of the regulatory landscape, industry trends and global minimum standards and conduct impact analyses, if/where relevant for Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC in close collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams in Singapore and Hong Kong
• Conduct regular process reviews as required for Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC while ensuring effective risk management and operational scalability
• Provide inputs/updates for the various management committees which may lead to representation of Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC at various forums
• Provide other adhoc business/risk management support as required

Regulatory &/OR Risk Management

• Establish, promote and maintain effective risk prevention, mitigation and response mechanisms for Markets & Wealth Management Solutions APAC
• Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements and aligned with Legal and Compliance teams in Singapore and Hong Kong
• Regular assessment of the function\xe2\x80\x99s practices to mitigate associated risks arising out of and relating to the said function
• Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional and Technical

• Relevant higher educational and professional background with more than 7 years of relevant working experience
• Experience in a business risk/control/compliance function
• Familiar with investment products and services and associated risks
• Represent the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s and shareholders\xe2\x80\x99 interests at all times
• Good commercial judgement, business acumen and broad understanding of the financial market and products

Regulatory

• Familiar with regulatory expectations and requirements of Singapore and Hong Kong (preferred)
