Job Description

The Production and Audio-Video Specialist reports to the Production Manager and assists the company in the coordination of pre-production, production, and post-production activities. This specialist will gain unique full-time experience working on production, audio, and video in a professional performing arts company.



Percentages of job components are estimates.

Productions (30%)

• To assist Production Manager & Artistic Director at performances and rehearsals
• Live sound engineering during live performances and rehearsals
• Sound operator for playback tracks during live shows
• Actively involved in production setup at venues for performances and tech rehearsals;
• Ensure performances run smoothly as part of the production team
• Set up video recording of performances and liaise with the video operator during live productions

Music & Pre-production (30%)

• Update and maintain catalogue of repertoire music
• To raise payment and keep records of music rights and copyright license obtained for the performances
• Liaise with Ballet Master/Mistress on requirement of music for daily rehearsals
• Liaise with choreographers on sourcing and editing of music tracks based on their needs
• Recording and duplication of music to the required source: MD, CD, DAT, etc.
• Maintenance of the company\'s sound equipment

Videos (30%)

• Update and maintain catalogue of video footage from rehearsals and performances
• Basic video editing skills to produce montages from performance footage for Marketing department
• Duplication of videos for management and dancers\' reference
• Set-up and video recording of rehearsals, if necessary
• Keep record of videos taken out for reference and promotional use
• Maintenance of the company\'s video equipment

Logistics (10%)

• Responsible for miscellaneous logistical and administrative tasks such as arranging meals during events, arranging transport, etc.

Job Requirements

• 1 year of experience in performance production, AV, or related fields
• Experience in live sound engineering
• Basic video editing skills to produce montages from performance footage
• Enthusiasm and creativity for production and performing arts
• Willingness to learn what it takes for a professional ballet production
