Job Description

The Production Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of production operations, including research & development (R&D) activities, to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, product quality, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical expertise in food production and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

Plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet targets and deadlines. Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. Monitor daily production performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.

2. R&D and Product Development

Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new products and improve existing formulations. Oversee pilot runs and product trials, ensuring smooth transition to full-scale production. Support innovation projects to enhance product quality, shelf life, and cost efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure production processes comply with SFA, HACCP, ISO, and other food safety regulations. Work closely with the QA/QC team to maintain high product quality standards. Implement and monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety measures.

4. People Management

Lead, coach, and develop production staff to achieve department objectives. Conduct training for operators on safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvements or career development plans.

5. Continuous Improvement

Identify process bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing principles. Reduce wastage and improve production yield. * Work with cross-functional teams to optimize cost and efficiency.
