Responsibilities

• Serving as the primary technical contact for customers and sales regarding new product opportunities.
• Leading and commercializing R&D projects with customers.
• Overseeing the development of new and innovative products or the enhancement of existing ones.
• Ensuring the company becomes the preferred supplier of responsible, safe, and innovative flexible packaging solutions for our customers.
• Developing and maintaining internal specifications.
• Providing support to the manufacturing process and plant operations.
• Lead and guide product development efforts.
• Create innovative strategies for key accounts in collaboration with BU sales and marketing leaders.
• Ensure effective operation of R&D business systems.
• Head product safety and sustainable product initiatives for the BU.
• Establish and maintain performance metrics for improving innovation and product changes.
• Develop product development plans for key market segments.
• Implement product platforms within the BU.
• Drive programs for simplification and standardization to lower costs and provide better value.
• Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement in the business.
• Represent the company in branding opportunities, such as speaking engagements.
• Continuously enhance product and technical knowledge across the organization.
• Stay updated on technology trends and customer/market technical needs to shape AF Singapore\'s technical solutions and commercial positioning.
• Make decisions on project approval and governance.
• Oversee and manage customer validation and qualification protocols.
• Handling various tier of both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar packaging industry role.
• Strong background in flexible packaging.
• Experience in project management, including project approval and oversight.
• Familiarity with the stage-gate process for new product development (NPD).
• Having a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Polymer Science or a related field is advantageous, but equivalent engineering experience is also a positive factor.
• Ready for frequent travel to customer and plant sites within the Business Unit.
