We are seeking a Project Accountant with similar values who can put his or her expertise to work on a construction project for a chemical production plant on Jurong Island, Singapore. This accountant will be expected to ensure proper recording of the project's accounts and finances, as well as compliance with Singapore's accounting standards and regulations. This accountant will report to the Deputy Project Manager for day-to-day operations, but will need to coordinate with and assist our accountant in the main office for accounts closing, tax filing, and audits on the company level. : Oversee all project accounting and reporting activities for the project, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements Maintenance of accounting records, such as journals and ledgers, including the preparation and safekeeping of proper documentation Processing of payment orders, payroll, fund transfers and other transactions, via e-banking or cheque Management of project bank accounts in multiple currencies, including statements, reconciliation, and transfers (exchange) Preparation and filing of Personal Income Tax through a tax agent for EP/S-Pass holders Management and calculation of GST, WHT, PIT and other taxes Preparation of monthly accounting reports for project management purposes Coordination with project team, especially project management and administration Coordination with main accountant for accounts closing and consolidation, tax filing, and audit compliance Any other project accounting related ad-hoc assignments as and when required Job Requirements: A bachelors' degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field CPA, SCA, ACCA, or equivalent certification A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Knowledge and understanding of accounting practices in Singapore and in the construction industry Prior experience in using MYOB (ABSS) accounting software, or willingness to learn (guidance will be provided) Excellent written and spoken English skills Other information: The employment term will be a contract starting 1 January 2023 and continuing until the end of the project mid-2025. Expected salary range is 3,000 SGD to 5,000 SGD, with AWS. The primary workplace will be near Orchard MRT, with occasional trips to Jurong East and Jurong Island for meetings and coordination with the site office
