About the position:

This position reports to Director of Fairs and Events and manages the project department.

Candidate would have to be independent with self-initiative, confident, able to work in a team and converse well.

  • Project management, provision of quotation and operational responsibility for Home, Away, Special Projects and JV shows.
  • Planning, handling, and coordination of shipments from the customers for both local and international shows and events including customs clearance and onsite services.
  • Cost acquisitions, calculation, and preparation of quotations for external customers and within the internal DSV offices.
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, train project personnel that has a direct reporting line to this position.
  • Ensure that all existing operating SOPs are observed by Projects staff, KPls are met and to continuously encourage process improvements.
  • Overall, in-charge of handling insurance claims matters with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Work closely with overseas offices to improve the profitability of JV shows that we are working on.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that collections generated from billings by Projects team are all collected promptly working closely with Finance.
  • Availability to travel if necessary for internationals shows and events.
  • Internal and external accounting of debtors and creditors to be managed tightly.
  • To efficiently handle projects that are assigned by General Manager - Operations or Executive Director.
  • Relationship managements Build good working relationships / rapport with venues, show organizers, agents / affiliates to ensure that we can operate our Home Games efficiently, effectively, and successfully.
  • Manage a set of key account customers and to work closely with the sales personnel for all project and operational arrangements.
  • Work closely with Operations to plan and review manpower and equipment needed for shows to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Lead the Pre & Post show reviews.
  • When necessary to cover some of the duties and roles of the General Manager and Director in their absence to ensure the respective projects are well cared for
  • Monthly review of each show / job PL to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure timely closure of all show files (minimally within 2 weeks with no longer than 3 weeks).
  • Ensure timely the timely re-exportation of all freight after the show (minimally within 2 weeks).
  • Be a qualified Safety personnel that ensure that H&S standards are upheld on site by all Projects personnel and Risk Assessments are in good order, when required.
  • Undertake role PIC for ISO- Projects Department to update the ISO documents when needed and attend to ISO audit annually.
  • To work closely with all other departments to contribute to the overall success of the company, which may involve any ad-hoc project that will be assigned from time to time.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
  • Minimally a diploma
  • 7 to 10 years of professional experience in a project or operational related function in the fairs and events or logistics industry is essential (knowledge of the industry and the market is preferable but not a requirement).
  • At least 2 written and spoken is mandatory (English is compulsory)
  • IT Skills and good level of MS Office products
