DHL Express Global Head Office has an opening for Project Manager - Global Network Operations Programs.

The Global Network Operations Programs Group is committed to managing programs that enable DHL Express Network Operations to achieve standardized processes, service excellence and lowest operating cost. They do this by constantly reviewing and enhancing the "Network Operations Tool Kit" and delivering value driven software and process changes on budget and schedule.

Overall Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Ops Programs Global in Global Network Operations Programs Group, the Project Manager role ensures a sound understanding of project requirements and associated effects of changes to Network Operations that support the business achieving goals and objectives set.

The role requires strong ownership of specific business process areas and the development road map to achieve both tactical and strategic objectives, which includes managing project/program scope, costs, resources and overall delivery.

• Lead, direct, manage and implement specific Projects relating to Global Network Operations Programs. Responsible to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and produce positive results on operations performance and quality based on defined business cases.
• In agreement with the Global Network Operations Programs management team, identify, champion, develop and coordinate projects and programs, in areas of Global Network Operations Programs to drive operational efficiency and operational cost improvement ensuring that performance meets customer (Internal and External) and Network expectations
• Driving resolution of any chronic problems impacting service in conjunction with the countries, regional and global functions
• "Thinking out of the box" to provide alternative but compliant solutions when opportunities are identified.
• Primary liaison and facilitator on behalf of the Operations users for specific projects of both a business operations and IS nature.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• University degree or equivalent , preferably in a business, transportation and/ or project management-related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience including at least 2 years as a project manager.
• Ideally previous experience gained with DHL with a comprehensive knowledge of the DHL Express network
• Good understanding of transportation, express, import and export operations and regulations in the region
• Broad-based computer knowledge with a good understanding of information systems needs relating to the express courier industry.
• Good knowledge of express /transport operations processes
• Well-developed project/ process management, prioritising and analytical skills with strong business acumen.
• Proven ability in report-writing; able to prepare analytical reports highlighting and interpreting key business information
• Agile and highly motivated, initiating, good team member
• Diplomatic, tactful, patient and sensitive to cultural differences
• Excellent communication skills in presentation, negotiating and influencing skills
• Positive and contributory attitude, total dedication to all customers
• Respect and Results Focused behaviour
• Fluency in spoken and written English
