We are seeking candidate who has experienced in M&E Data Centre subject matter expert to join our team. He/she will operate under the Engineering Design and Solution function for the Data Centre Business.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Standardize Design Concept for Critical Data Centre with focus on various Mechanical Systems
  • Resourceful in continuously exploring for new engineering system and/or technology for Data Centre application with an aim to enhance or improve overall performance, lower energy, and water consumption, increase operation productivity and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Liaise with internal business units and external customers for technical requirement to translate into executable plan for implementation by consultant and/or contractor.
  • Construction Support: attend site meeting, review Mechanical service shop drawings and as-built drawings, prepare RFIs, and turnover documentation. Provide technical support to Project Manager for mechanical engineering matters such as conduct site quality check on installed mechanical systems, identify site defects, verification of system performance.
  • Commissioning: critic on data centre commissioning scripts to ensure they accurately test all modes of operations. Witness key commissioning tests on site
  • Design: Develop regional specific requirements and impact on facility infrastructure systems. Review data centre-specific design and construction drawings
  • R&D: Perform technical reviews for new engineering solutions for implement in data centre, prepare assessment report and make recommendation to management to adopt your proposed solutions.
  • Liaise with Energy and Sustainability manager to examine and assess systems design and equipment selection are good in operating efficiency with low energy and water consumption to drive low PUE and WUE for all our DCs.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases. Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
  • Preparation of M&E budgetary cost for DC project works and engineering solutions.
  • Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, mechanical systems audits, and start-up as needed.
  • Collaborate with the core team to understand, develop and update the data centre mechanical designs, starting from basis of design (BOD) to issue for constructions (IFC) documents, for new data centre project buildouts and major infrastructure upgrades to all levels of testing and commissioning works.
  • Perform as engineering subject matter expert to work with consultants during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, SAT, delivery, and installation on site. Identify and resolve issues raised by the cross-functional teams.
  • Update and maintain the internal design specifications, drawings, and standards in accordance with the latest configurations and including all \'lessons learned\' in relation to all equipment.
  • Provide and prepare all types of reports and documents including statement of work, engineering reports, design documents, total cost of ownership analysis, drawing markup, budget, schedule, commissioning, design specification. etc

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years in mission critical design experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical specification/data sheet, curves, design, equipment and construction specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in both Mechanical and Electrical services specifically in ACMV system, Hydraulic system, thermodynamics refrigeration cycle. Competent to perform various engineering calculation (i.e. cooling load calculation, hydraulic calculation, etc.), equipment sizing (i.e. chiller, pump, cooling tower, air handler) and selection of equipment.
  • Familiar with M&E system installation progress for new green field and brown field that correlates with building construction program.
  • Knowledgeable in Building Management System/DCIM, able to understand system architect and point schedule.
  • Knowledgeable with local building codes and regulations including Life Safety.
  • Knowledge of large-scale mission critical facility\xe2\x80\x99s mechanical infrastructure systems. An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality and reliability.
  • The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high-level review.
  • Coordinate with project teams on matters related to Environmental Sustainability and green rating and building performances.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.
  • Possess leadership and problem-solving skills.
