Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, SingaporeThe School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.We are seeking a Project Officer to join the laboratory of Pinaki Sengupta at SPMS. The incumbent will contribute to a project focused on Computational studies of quantum magnets.Key Responsibilities:Construct realistic microscopic models of low-dimensional quantum magnetsDevelop numerical algorithms to simulate the microscopic modelsUse large scale simulations to investigate the properties of the microscopic models developedJob Requirements:Bachelor degree in related fieldsExperience in quantum many body physicsExpertise in advanced numerical methods such as Density Matrix renormalization Group (DMRG), Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC)Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is essential to conduct researchExperience in using large scale supercomputing facilities.The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity.
