Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, SingaporeThe School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.The laboratory of Assoc. Prof. Elbert Chia at SPMS is seeking a Project Officer to contribute to a project focused on ultrafast spectroscopy of spintronic terahertz emitters.Key Responsibilities:Operation, maintenance, and modification of scientific equipment in Prof. Chia\xe2\x80\x99s laboratoryManagement of project issues, including related paperworkMaterial characterization and measurements in optical and terahertz rangePreparation of scientific publicationsJob Requirements:BSc degree in physics or applied physics (with 1st class honours)Experience in condensed matter physics, esp using Density Functional TheoryStrong written and verbal communication skills in English (including scientific writing)Entry level candidates are welcome to applyAbility to work independently and to work as part of a team, e.g., collaborating with the group members as well as researchers from other labsThe College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity.
