We are currently looking for a highly motivated and result-driven Purchasing and Supply Continuity- Intern , who aspire to be a future Purchasing Engineer / Manager whose one of main objectives is to ensure good sourcing strategy are in place for the business to create a strategic advantage.

This role will be part Cummins Specialize Purchasing department. This role provides the intern exposure to real business with regards supplier base analysis and sourcing strategy development. The intern will be given hands-on opportunities understand and analyze the overall supplier base in Asia Pacific. In depth analysis of the spend data, couple with research into the supplier business to create a bottom up, data driven sourcing strategy.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

• To map out current supplier base in Singapore & Malaysia and categories them into commodity and/or competence groups
• Identify commodity groups for supplier consolidation for efficiency.
• Consolidate spending power to vital few suppliers to better leverage Cummins\xe2\x80\x99 buying power.

Qualifications

• Conduct survey with end users to understand the competency and commodity needed to support the business.
• Conduct survey with existing suppliers and/or conduct market research to understand supplier market.
• Analyse spends and map out frequency of supplier engagement.
• Analyse spends to identify overlap of competence.
• To analyze and recommend set of competence / commodity. Using Cummins global commodity as reference and map to those categories if possible.
• Identify opportunity for intra-country and cross- country supplier consolidation.
