Job Description


:

Reporting to the Head of Technical, the job holder will lead the Purchasing Team, as part of the Technical Department. The role is responsible for:

  • Responsible for development of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Sustainable Purchasing strategy, in line with modern industry standards and best practices, focussing on initiatives and implementing the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact (https://unglobalcompact.org/), Environmental, Social, Governance issues encompassing human rights, labor practices, and anti-corruption.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Purchasing Policies, Procedures, processes and KPI\xe2\x80\x99s as provided in the Purchasing Manual section of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Responsible for driving environmental compliance and proactive measures to stay abreast of industry expectations, i.e. Scope 3 emissions monitoring, supply chain waste reductions, plastics usage reduction, sustainable packaging, etc.
  • Responsible for Vendor Contracts management. Negotiating pricing and quality with suppliers to get the best deals possible while maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
  • Responsible for Vendors list management, vendor authenticity verification, vendor fraud detection, vendor acceptance approvals in line with Company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures. Collate and monitor Vendor negative feedback related to safety / health / environmental / quality policies.
  • Responsible for the purchases logistics supply chain to procure and deliver stores/spares/services to the Fleet vessels, setup warehouse / logistics contracts, keeping in perspective efficient operations by incorporating end to end consignment tracking.
  • Responsible for Onboard Inventory Management, storage locations, and ensuring adequate onboard stock management, and regular onboard inventory reconciliation, management of long-term storage spares / rotating spares in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for the compliance to EU Ship Recycling (EU SRR) and Hong Kong Convention (HKC) legal requirements under International Hazardous Materials Statement of Compliance.
  • Evaluating the performance of the suppliers, sub-contractors and repair companies/yards basis feedback from Ship Managers and Purchasers. Carry out Company audits in line with Company\xe2\x80\x99s ISO 9K/18K/45K policies & procedures, Supplier code of Conduct, and other industry requirements/best practices.
  • Responsible for Purchasing related Software and ERP systems improvements - system design, error reduction & efficiency, process flow, data visualization, data analysis, reports generation, etc. Responsible for liaising with ERP Vendor and project management of all ERP modifications, end user testing, and roll out on the fleet in co-ordination with the IT team.
  • Responsible for Invoicing system workflows, efficient & timely invoice processing.
Qualifications:
  • Degree / Diploma in relevant disciplines, preferably with more than 4 years of work experience in a shipping / ship management company.
  • Committed and responsible in meeting deadlines with excellent time management skills.
