Purchase goods or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
Ensure all purchases are in compliance to Purchasing SOP and company direction
Check completion and authorization of all Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders and that the right expense code number are utilized.
Supply Chain Management: Responsible for supplier assessment and management, ensuring continuous supply to meet production and market demands while reducing inventory and regularly monitor stocks supplies to ensure adequate supply at all times for a smooth operation.
Cost Analysis and Control: Responsible for analyzing purchase cost structures, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and formulating effective cost control strategies.
Procurement Strategy Formulation: Formulate the company\'s procurement strategy, including selecting suitable suppliers, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring that suppliers align with the company\'s needs and values. Undertake assessment on and evaluate existing and new suppliers with capability and eligibility
Contract and Risk Management: Evaluate and manage risks associated with suppliers, products, and the market. Establish business continuity plan and alternate sourcing for critical commodity and purchase. Handle disputes that may arise from contracts and propose corresponding risk mitigation strategies.
Cross-Departmental Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments such as production, quality control, and research and development to ensure that procurement activities align with the company\'s overall strategy and objectives.
Understand product technical specifications, and communicate with suppliers to ensure that purchased products meet the company\'s technical standards and requirements.
Departmental Management: Regularly assess departmental performance, establish goals, provide training and supervision, review operational efficiency, and propose improvement suggestions. Address challenges and issues faced by the department or its personnel.
Strategize purchasing functions developing 3 Years Strategies from with key levers covering OI Improvement and Optimization of Capex, Direct and Indirect spend.
Tactical functions include spend management for Key commodities such as Resins (Engineering plastics), Packaging and other Indirect commodities like Genex, Freight, MRO, Capex spend for Tooling and Equipment etc.
Participate and assist in negotiation for commodities quarterly together with global sourcing team
Management of Scrap sale for Plated Scrap, Un-plated stamping scrap, Gold and Palladium,, Wire, Wipes etc with best yields defined with suppliers.
Spare part management for molding machines, Molds, and Assembly equipment with lowest prices selected from set of suppliers developed in China as well as Malaysia
Aggressive Cost Reduction target for Malaysia, Utilize Negotiation for best price, identify and execute potential cost reduction opportunity, quarterly cost review and negotiation with key suppliers
Stay updated with market changes, new products and services in order to continuously look for opportunities to reduce purchase costs without compromising on quality or delivery.
Deliver reports as and when required
Job Requirements:
Possess a Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant working experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prove negotiation skills.
