QS Engineer

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical QS Engineer to be responsible for preparing cost estimates, BOQs and job costing for projects. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate costing of resources, materials, labor, and overheads to support competitive pricing, effective budgeting, and overall project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Conduct project and job costing by analyzing scope, material requirements, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overheads. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and planning teams to gather accurate cost data and technical inputs. Analyze cost variations, track actual vs. estimated costs, and prepare variance reports. Maintain and update cost databases and historical costing records. Support the preparation of bids, tenders, and proposals by providing cost inputs and breakdowns. Assist in budgeting and forecasting for ongoing and upcoming projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to value engineering efforts. Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices in cost estimation. Prepare cost reports and provide input for project profitability analysis and management decision-making.

Requirements:

Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Quantity Surveying. Min 2 years of experience in cost estimation, job costing, or project cost control. * Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and market rates.
