Requirements


You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or similar. You will need to have gained two or more years or more post graduate experience or more working as a Quantity Surveyor on large building construction projects. You will need some experience of feasibiity studies, cost estimating, cost planning, cash flow forecasting, contractual advice, value engineering, contractor selection, tender documentation, along with all post contract work including valuations, variations etc. You will need good English and be keen to improve your English language skills. Good Chinese is also required. Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels. You should be able to work with minimum supervision and supervise less experienced QSs as required. Salary is negotiable according to experience. Liaising with clients to identify their needs Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour Preparing tender and contract documents Identifying and weighing up commercial risks Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments Ensuring projects meet legal and quality standards Ensuring that clients get value for their money Advising on the maintenance costs of specific buildings Submitting regular budget reports * Following building regulations and health and safety
