Job Description

The quantity surveyor manages all costs relating to the project, from initial calculations to the final figures, seeking to minimize costs of a project and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Price the cost of different materials needed for projects
• Taking off/ measurement of quantities for Manufacturing
• Estimating and Tendering for Manufacturing
• Project Procurement, Purchasing, and Budgeting for Manufacturing
• Assist contracts manager in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of manufacturing
• Project Progress Claims, Variations, and Final Accounts for Manufacturing
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, variation orders, and other documentation
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projects accordingly
• Procurement of raw materials
• Attend site meetings when required
• Coordinate with clients, site personnel, and production floor/suppliers to achieve accurate and timely delivery. Adherence to safety practices in the workplace.

• Education: Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Experience: 3 - 5 years of proven experience in related field
• Good analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal ability

• Good quantitative skills
• Robust knowledge of materials and construction at site
• Strong measurement skill
• Good understanding of the principles of contracts
