Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to our engineering and construction projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the projects are completed within the allocated budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:



Cost Estimation & Budgeting:



Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, considering materials, labor, and equipment. Analyze project specifications and designs to determine the cost implications. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with the approved budget.

Tender Preparation & Evaluation:



Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Analyze and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes and tender submissions. Participate in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

Contract Administration:



Manage and review contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms. Conduct regular valuations of work in progress and prepare progress claims. Assess and manage variations, change orders, and cost implications.

Project Coordination & Collaboration:



Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site staff to monitor project progress and manage cost-related issues. Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

Reporting:



Prepare regular financial reports on project performance, highlighting cost deviations and proposing corrective actions. Assist in finalizing project accounts and ensure accurate documentation and filing.

Key Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably in civil or structural engineering projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management. Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with shoring, piling, or civil engineering projects would be an advantage.

Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
