Thales today employs over 2,100 people in Singapore across all its business areas.INTERNSHIP TOPIC: AI Algorithm for Radar False Alarm ReductionDescription:Artificial Intelligence has the potential to enhance radar systems by improving target detection, classification and tracking.False alarms in radar systems occur when non-target signals - such as noise, clutter, or interference - are mistakenly identified as valid targets, potentially obscuring real threats and degrading system performance. In this internship, the development of an AI algorithm for false alarm reduction in a Ground Surveillance radar is proposed. This algorithm will be derived and adapted from previous work done on an air surveillance radar.The performance of the following supervised learning algorithms should be evaluated: Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Decision Tree and Ensemble Methods (Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, Extra Trees, etc.).Specific Responsibilities:Analysis of the dataset and documentation availableData labellingDesign, Training and Test of the AI algorithmComparison of the different machine learning approachesAnalysis of the interpretability of the methodKey Requirements:Keen interest in data analysis and AI technologiesExperience of building and training machine learning models is most welcomedSkills in scripting/programming (Python)Knowledge in signal and data processing would be an advantageExpected Outcome:Python scripts and Machine Learning modelsData analysis and evaluation reportAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
