Job Description

An international retailing client is looking for a Regional Buying Manager (alcohol and others) to join its Singapore hub.Reporting to the Head of Buying, the role involves negotiating contracts, analysing market trends, and ensuring a competitive product mix while leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in retail buying, category management, and a deep understanding of the alcohol market and consumer preferences.Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute buying strategies for the alcohol and other categories to optimise sales and profitability
• Lead strategic supplier negotiations to achieve the most competitive terms
• Manage and nurture long-term supplier relationships for optimal business outcomes
• Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to develop promotions and product displays that drive sales
• Identify market trends and implement relevant assortments to enhance category performance
• Lead and inspire team members, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture

Key requirements

• More than 5 years of buying experience in the alcohol and related categories
• Proven experience in strategic negotiations and supplier relationship management
• In-depth knowledge of market dynamics, including trends and consumer preferences in alcohol retail
• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams
• A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
