This role is a critical part of a global network of regional cross commodity analysts that monitor the markets and generate live insights to support the formation of Shel\xe2\x80\x99s trading biases. The cross-commodity analysts work alongside our data and analytics fundamentals team to generate world leading market insights that leverage Shell\xe2\x80\x99s information flow advantage to drive commercial decision making.
The primary purpose of the Regional Cross Book Analyst is to lead the integration of analysis across regional crude and product desks. Each major trading region has a Cross Book Analyst to support the Head of Analytics in developing an integrated view between regions and commodities to facilitate generation of trading biases at the regional and inter-regional level. Focus shall be on co-ordinating and integrating regional trading desk analysis to aid formation of competitively advantaged trading convictions through the liquid horizon (generally 0-6 months but in some cases as long as 24 months). Close collaboration with Crude and Product Regional Team Leads is expected.
What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?
The role will generate insights from the information flow advantage Shell Trading possesses, leveraging our domain expertise to generate deep analytical insights, including through advanced analytics. The Regional Cross Book Analyst will be expected to maintain a clear understanding of all major aspects of analysis across each commodity within their region of focus and of how those views interact with the global perspective.
Stakeholders Management / People & Skills \xe2\x80\x93 The Regional Cross Book Analyst will be expected to engage professionally and proactively with the other Regional Cross Book Analysts, Fundamentals Analysts, Desk analysts, Traders, Regional Team Leads and other stakeholders at the working and leadership levels across the Trading & Supply (T&S) organization and in the functions. This will include defining and delivering analysis requirements, ensuring clear information flow and communication across the regional and global analyst and trader communities and building formal and informal networks to support analytics activities.
What we need from you
As the role involves leading analysis and discussions around integrated refining economics between crude and refined product trade desks, we are seeking a candidate with at least five years\' experience in refinery optimization and/or refinery technology to join our Global Trading Analytics team to head cross commodity analysis in the East Region.

Strategic thinker, able to develop and articulate a vision and direction in complex technical and analytical situations.
Track record in delivering value, from opportunity identification to delivery, dealing with unknowns and taking decisions with an incomplete set of information,
Strong communications and stakeholder management skills. Able to articulate a vision and build support for that vision in the wider team and organization.
Ability to self-start and direct efforts based on high-level business objectives,
Strong people skills with the ability to work in and lead diverse teams to meet new and complex challenges.
