Your Role

As Regional Finance Manager - Asia Pacific & Middle East (APME) based in Gensler's Singapore office, you will manage the financial and accounting functions in the region including offices in Bangalore, Bangkok, Middle East, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. Reporting directly to the Regional Operating Officer, you will work closely with Office Directors and Studio Directors to provide financial leadership and a high level of internal client service.

You will also ensure that local and global policies and protocols are followed and will mentor and support the finance and accounting team members.

What You Will Do

You will provide financial leadership and oversee full accounting functions including but not limited to: project accounting, accounts payable, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, general ledger, financial reporting and analysis, month end close, profitability targets, contract administration, P & L and Balance Sheet.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an integral member of the Region's management and leadership team
  • Work with Accounting Manager(s), provide oversight of Project Accountants, and related finance staff in each office
  • Work closely with Studio Directors, Design Managers and Project Accountants to ensure accurate project accounting and accounts receivable are current
  • Oversee billing and fee management operations in the Region and ensures that all financial activities are consistent with Gensler policies and procedures
  • Assist Regional Operating Officer in preparing operating budget and closely monitor overhead expenditures
  • Prepare monthly estimate of profit and loss and manage month end close with Accounting Manager(s)
  • Closely manage accounts payable, collections, and overhead expenses
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assists in collection efforts when necessary
  • Assist Regional Operating Officer in analysis of operations and preparation of monthly operating report
  • Participate in global Accounting Manager projects and initiatives. Participate in conference calls and meetings as appropriate
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives for process improvements
  • Maintain a positive team environment by creating programs to boost morale
  • Provide staff members with an "open door policy" to allow individuals to feel free to communicate with you and other members of the management team
  • Build staff capabilities through programs that improve individual skills and develop improved management and communication
Your Qualifications
  • A Senior Accounting or Finance professional with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, including substantial experience in billing, accounts receivable and financial reporting and analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; MBA or CPA qualification desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore and other relevant countries. Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
  • Good understanding of tax regulations and tax accounting principles, e.g. GST, income tax and deferred tax etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational and analytical skills; detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables
  • Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
  • Results driven, detail orientated, self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels in the business and across different geographical locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and Deltek Vision software a plus
  • Pro-active and able to work effectively alone and in a team environment
  • Proficient in data management with strong excel skills
  • Able to respond to vendors, consultants and staff in a timely and professional manner
