Objectives of the Position

  • Lead the design and proof of concept of future connected offers for execution by drive countries
  • Lead APAC Asia Pacific Fruit & Vegetable crop system and global crop system strategy implementation in Asia Pacific
  • Responsible for attractiveness and customer relevance of portfolio offer for the region for the respective crop(s) to deliver ambitious financial and strategic goals
  • Steer crop system business operations
Main Tasks:

Leading the APAC Fruits & Vegetables crop system function
  • Generate drive country grower and customer insights
  • Represent APAC region in the global Crop System forum, contribute to Crop System global strategy development, Reach & Development funding allocation and connected offers development. Focal contact point for regional and global functions.
  • Represent regional needs in global SBU strategy development. Ensure SBU strategy and Asset management implementation in key countries. Contribute an integrated drive country perspective on the areas of weed, disease, pest control and seeds strategy.
  • Develop regional crop system plans, identify key focus area
  • Ensure implementation of crop portfolio roadmap and development of key projects to deliver the mid to long-term sales and profit targets in the crop across Asia Pacific. Ensure alignment across the \xe2\x80\x9cCrop Lead Countries\xe2\x80\x9d on the 10 year planning assumptions and crop forecast and support with long term planning for key products. Review country crop system plans.
  • In F&V crop systems: lead development of key projects to deliver approved business cases. Drive recommendation of LCM projects and business cases to ensure a competitive and sustainable mid to long term product portfolio.
  • Lead country Life-Cycle-Management (LCM) project prioritization and allocation aligning with global strategy. Propose ideas to crop teams for gap filling (new opportunity finding projects). Supervise asset managers on project management for approved development and LCM projects.
  • Maximize business opportunities in non-drive markets
  • Develop connected offers including seeds & traits, digital, Food Value Chain, and sustainability. Identify, initiate and drive solution approach opportunities with countries, regional functions and Global Marketing, emphasizing on digital services and demand creation.
Steer F&V crop system business operations with focus on Fungicide and Insecticide
  • Steer pricing and profitability management for F&V sector on Fungicide and Insecticide
  • Participation in Regional Supply & Operational Planning meetings and steer allocation management
  • Develop portfolio and launch innovation to market.
  • Drive the countries development and implementation of crop strategies and launch plans to focus on key products and to ensure quicker penetration to meet the sales, market share and profit targets, Initiate preparation of key launches prior to launch, incl. strategic pricing and value proposition.
  • Develop Go to Market models
  • Drive portfolio optimization and rationalization.
  • Lead asset management team and optimize asset lifecycle in Asia Pacific.
  • Challenge and improve short term planning of countries.
  • Build culture and mindset of strong commercial competencies, expertise in agriculture and CORE
  • Active representation of company interests; comply with and ensure compliance with company vision, values, guiding principles and Compliance Code/Guidelines; contribute to maintaining the long-term competitiveness of the company; comply with and ensure compliance with company EHS Policy and Business Center regulations
Coordinate as portfolio lead across crop systems as interface to regional marketing team to other regional functions:
  • Drive coordinated sustainability and stewardship portfolio decision making process and implementation
  • Coordinate marketing teams\' input in cross functional regional forums: RAC, budgeting forum, S&OP, stewardship design, Coach, train, guide and steer the agreed \xe2\x80\x9cF&V drive Countries\xe2\x80\x9d and lead the regional crop systems team including multifunctional participants from various disciplines such as R&D, regulatory, country crop managers, communication, supply chain and controlling to:
  • Develop a regional crop strategy implementation plan to shape the development of the crop connected offer portfolio roadmap focused on \xe2\x80\x9cDrive Countries\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Ensure alignment across the \xe2\x80\x9cdrive Countries\xe2\x80\x9d on the 10 year planning assumptions and crop forecast and support with long term planning for key products.
  • Lead identification of new business opportunities and differentiators for market share growth including synergy opportunities across countries via best practice sharing and systematic transfer of information concerning market, customer and competition.
  • Build market intelligence for the crop with lead countries via regular monitoring of market and competitor activities. Define competitive medium-long term scenarios including regional assumption and identification of significant trends in Asia Pacific
  • Coach Drive countries to develop the skills and competencies within the country marketing community.
  • Provide crop and product expertise to the countries in Asia to develop their crop portfolio and business.
  • Building indication competencies in countries (together with technical team)
  • Drive countries to manage and review key projects locally and input updates
  • Ensure SBU strategy and Asset management implementation in key countries
  • At least 25% travel to countries including remote villages, visiting farmers, retailers, and distributors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s degree with a preference in Agriculture / Marketing or related field
  • 8- 10 years\' experience in Marketing of Crop Protection products or relevant experience including operative experience in a Commercial role, preferable Sales and/or Marketing.
  • Proven track record in (functionally) leading technical and/or marketing project teams
  • Proven capacity in business development, launching new products, marketing management and financial analysis
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work across levels for successful implementation
  • Ability to steer change management and adoption of new business models and ways of thinking
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience with external parties is preferred
