Our client is a Singapore-headquartered Commodities Trading house, specialising in cargo and bunkering trading. As the business continues to grow healthily, they are looking to onboard their 1st legal hire to join the business.
This is a great opportunity for those that are keen to grow their career in a hands-on role to make a direct impact to the growth of the business.


Reporting into the C-suites, you will be responsible in building and managing the legal function in the business. To start, you will develop legal structures, framework and legal templates for the business. You will build strong working relationships with stakeholders across levels to facilitate legal advice during business strategic discussions and contract negotiations. You will also be involved in the pre-litigious and acquisition-related matters of the company, with the support of external counsel where appropriate.
Qualifications
You should be a Singapore qualified lawyer with at least 7 years PQE gained in reputable law firms and an in-house environment within the commodities trading space. As a pioneer member of the legal function, you are equipped with good industry knowledge as well as keen proactiveness to partner well with global stakeholders to drive conversations and navigate the business through complex matters.
