As the integrated regional centre, Haier Singapore is the main platform to provide trading, R&D, legal, big data, cybersecurity and risk management supports to over 80 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America markets. As the continuous demands from global businesses, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Regional Legal Counsel to support our growing business globally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Based in Singapore, you will be part of the strategic layout of Haier Smart Home and manage the company\xe2\x80\x99s legal portfolio, including:

  • Identify any legal or regulatory issues concerning the business units and/or arising from the business activities, advise and provide commercial solutions to minimize legal risks and enable the management to make informed strategic decision within an acceptable risk.
  • Draft, vet, review, negotiate and perfect various types of documents and contracts including master subscription agreements, data processing addenda, NDAs, payment agreements, financing, security and transaction documentation in support of Haier businesses in Singapore and SEA.
  • Monitor and ensure that all documents and contracts executed by the authorized signatories of the company are compliant with the current processes.
  • Liaise and coordinate with company secretary, external solicitors and other third-party advisors on various legal, corporate and/or litigation matters.
  • Responsible to enhance the corporate governance practices, revise the relevant guidelines and authority matrix to be in consistent with headquarters\xe2\x80\x99 processes.
  • Provide support in the event of any disputes or potential disputes and litigation matters.
  • Responsible for establishment of the company\xe2\x80\x99s compliance system, drafting of relevant policies.
  • Actively contribute to cross-regional team projects.
KEY REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidates we are looking for should be seasoned Legal Professionals with:
  • Undergraduate LL.B. or postgraduate J.D. from a reputable university in Singapore, the UK, or a common law jurisdiction and valid practicing certificate in a common law jurisdiction.
  • Admission to the bar in common law jurisdiction, preferably Singapore.
  • Minimum 5 years in-house/banking experience, exposure in international trade is a must.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage large numbers of deadlines, in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving, and demanding industry and work environment.
  • Highly responsive with a service-oriented attitude. Able to handle pressure and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Maker spirit and eager to continually learn and develop professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Mandarin to liaise and manage internal and external Mandarin-speaking clients and customers.
