The Role We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel, who will play a pivotal role in supporting Intrepid’s business growth and protecting our legal interests. Reporting directly to our Group CEO, you will support the business on a wide range of transactional and compliance related matters. You will also play an important role in helping establish the processes and practices of the Legal department. To be successful in the organisation, you should be a team player, curious about the business, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working in an inclusive and diverse environment and must be a creative, lateral thinker. You should be able to look at your responsibilities and develop your legal guidance in a practical, commercially focussed manner, helping the business achieve its goals while appropriately managing risk.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Draft, negotiate, structure, implement, manage and monitor a wide variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to, sale side and buy side agreements, licensing agreements, master services agreements, partner agreements (including distributors and resellers), statements of work, RFP responses, and supporting documents all in line with Ascential policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the business, operational and technical functions in elaborating relevant legal and contractual solutions in all business relationships, in identifying legal stakes so that risks are detected, measured and mitigated, in ensuring that contractual commitments comply with applicable laws and regulations, competition law, trade compliance and export control, anti-corruption, intellectual property, etc.
• Review, update, customize the contract templates as per the applicable local law and as necessary.
• Interface with external counsels for analysis and management of specific legal issues in the framework of complex contractual and/or legal arrangements or claim/litigation procedures in the region on a need-basis.
• Perform regional legal compliance to ensure that Rakuten Symphony’s internal policies are properly implemented.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent from a reputable university
• 2-4 years successful professional experience as in-house lawyer ( technology companies preferred) providing support to business in an international environment.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, creativity and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Good understanding and practice of international contracts and compliance issues
• Autonomous, meticulous, self-confident, accountable, “team-player” and positive attitude
• Appetite for fast-paced and challenging work within a matrix organization with short turnaround time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
