The Company

Our client is a multinational manufacturing firm and is currently seeking for a hands-on and nimble Regional Senior IT Manager to report to the CIO and leading a team of 3 in-house System Administrators in the region. This person will be covering all areas of IT operations and infrastructure (server, network, software), including people leadership, project management, strategy development and looking after an operating budget.

The Role

You will oversee an extensive enterprise organization comprising sub-departments and team members, handle operational initiatives and collaboration with I.T. leadership to make far-reaching strategic choice, cultivating and mentoring their team of direct reports, continuously enhancing both their soft and technical skills, and recognizing potential for internal employee growth and advancement. This includes devising development and succession plans and assembling a capable team to deploy solutions and sustain business operations. This individual will manage multiple projects, offering guidance throughout the design, planning, and implementation phases. Additionally, they will handle the prioritization and management of support incidents and requests. Furthermore, the role involves endorsing software, hardware, and cloud technology selections that align with the broader business plan. Effective interaction with diverse business units is pivotal for this role, necessitating an understanding of various business segments and how I.T. impacts their operations. You must showcase professionalism and collaboration while engaging with customers, team members, and management are imperative. You will also shoulder the responsibility of overseeing the financial aspects of the enterprise department. This entails consistent monitoring and reporting of financial impacts within the department. Finally, the role involves managing enterprise-wide vendor contracts, maintenance agreements, equipment procurement, purchasing negotiations, and fostering relationships.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of full-time technical experience or equivalent on-the-job training which is inclusive of managing a technical I.T. team responsible for infrastructure and operations. The candidate should exhibit a high level of management and leadership proficiency, including the ability to manage a team effectively, provide regular coaching and development plans, mentor and coach team members, motivate individuals to reach their full potential, deliver presentations to I.T. leadership, demonstrate strong knowledge of business finance concepts as applied to information technology, communicate professionally both verbally and in writing. In terms of technical skills, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in Unix, including familiarity with Solaris or a similar Unix operating system, knowledge of ZFS or a similar file management system, and experience with enterprise-level SAN technologies. Their technical expertise should also encompass Oracle, encompassing familiarity with Oracle database technologies, Oracle EBS, proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL, and experience with Oracle-based monitoring systems. Solid stakeholder management skills are needed to partner effectively with vendors, partners, and solution providers.
