As part of DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of CRE colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities.We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC in Singapore.Position Overview:The Regional Sustainability Manager for the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Asia Pacific (APAC) team at DHL Group will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency programs, and resource management across our facilities. This position requires strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to enhancing our environmental performance while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.The primary purpose of this role is to provide regional leadership for asset performance and energy excellence within Corporate Real Estate (CRE). The Regional Sustainability Manager will develop, deploy, and manage the energy conservation and sustainability program, aiming to achieve savings while contributing to environmental protection. This role will foster energy-efficient practices and behaviors throughout the CRE APAC region, further advancing DHL Groups corporate sustainability program. Additionally, the manager will provide technical support to CRE staff to improve the efficiency and reliability of mechanical and electrical systems, recommend and oversee the implementation of energy monitoring, verification, reporting, auditing, and procurement activities, and develop communication strategies and educational materials to support program goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy and Resource Management: Oversee the strategic and efficient utilization of energy resources to create high-quality indoor environments. Establish and communicate comprehensive standards and objectives for the development, operation, and maintenance of DHLs facilities and Building Environmental Systems.
  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic and technical leadership in asset management, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives. Develop and implement standard operating procedures, predictive maintenance protocols, capital planning strategies, customer service standards, service level agreements, and performance metrics for third-party service providers.
  • Sustainability Management: Lead the CRE APAC team in asset, energy, and sustainability management, focusing on standardization, technical leadership, and enhancing facility management services' performance. Drive initiatives to reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources while collaborating with various CRE departments to integrate sustainability practices and set environmental conservation goals.
  • Technology Implementation: Collaborate with CRE team members to implement innovative technologies, identify cost-saving opportunities, manage sustainability initiatives, and explore options related to energy procurement and energy-related capital projects. Prioritize initiatives based on life cycle cost evaluations and their potential to enhance corporate reputation.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Engage with CRE APAC and country teams to identify and implement sustainable products, processes, best practices, and technologies aimed at reducing energy and water consumption, improving asset lifecycle management, and mitigating the environmental impact of the real estate portfolio.
  • Collaboration with Business Units: Work closely with Business Units GoGreen Leads to implement and test new technologies, exploring avenues to reduce overall energy consumption and reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
  • Project Oversight: Provide expert guidance on asset management, energy efficiency, and sustainability considerations for new construction and capital projects. Collaborate with project management and leasing teams to ensure the integration of life cycle cost evaluation approaches that encompass maintenance, energy use, and sustainability.
  • Knowledge Execution: Execute assignments that require extensive knowledge of asset lifecycle management, energy efficiency, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present monthly status and variance reports, and conduct regular asset and energy team meetings. Effectively communicate past, present, and future energy strategies and performance metrics through formal presentations to CRE Management, employees, and Business Units.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment: Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for enhancing the companys environmental performance.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Compile detailed reports on evaluation findings and present actionable recommendations for improvement to senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant country, state, and federal environmental regulations and statutes.
  • Training and Development: Lead training sessions and workshops on sustainability practices for CRE employees to foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Certification Participation: Actively participate in the certification process for buildings seeking relevant industry Energy Star ratings, such as LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, Green Mark, etc.
Qualifications were looking for:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience/qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or a degree in Sustainability and Environmental Compliance is preferred.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, and/or other related qualifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of management experience in sustainability or a related sector, with operational experience.
  • Comfortable with matrix management models.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to navigate complex situations.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and service level agreements.
  • Proven track record in business performance management aligned with strategic targets and market developments.
  • Experience in conducting research and identifying potential energy efficiency projects.
  • Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical background in energy conservation practices and building systems, including HVAC, building automation systems, lighting, motors, and speed drives.
  • Understanding of applicable building codes and standards.
  • Experience in energy project management.
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills are essential, with the ability to utilize various communication mediums effectively and sensitively. Demonstrated experience as a public speaker.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Capable of responding effectively to sensitive issues and making compelling presentations on intricate topics to employees, Business Units, and senior management. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and Business Units to drive desired actions.
Financial Knowledge:
  • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability to forecast and prepare budgets.
  • Conducts financial/business analysis, including the preparation of reports.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve problems and navigate various options in complex situations.
  • Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions in a growing matrix-based environment.
  • Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that directly impact the company.
