Role overview

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Regulatory Affairs Lead to join our international regulation team focusing on the drone services business for Asia Pacific (APAC).

The key focus for the role is to secure regulatory permissions for drone operations in our Asia Pacific markets. This will be done through relationship management with regulatory authorities and stakeholders, preparation of regulatory documents, safety and compliance, and working closely with our in-country employees and partners.

You will

  • Lead preparation of high-quality regulatory submissions to authorities and secure permissions from various national regulatory bodies for drone operations in APAC markets
  • Take ownership of regularly updating operations manuals in line with new flight operations procedures and policies.
  • Manage the timely renewals of existing regulatory permissions.
  • Support safety and compliance activities, particularly in the APAC region.
  • Develop relationships with and exert influence on regulators to support Skyports\xe2\x80\x99 reputation as an industry leader, particularly through the conception of new regulatory solutions.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment, so as to advise the management and commercial teams on opportunities and challenges to introducing drone services in target APAC markets.
  • Report to our Regulatory Affairs Manager (Asia Pacific) in Singapore. Work most closely with our flight operations teams and our drone services commercial team in APAC as well as alongside regulatory team colleagues across the globe.
Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail expertise to maximise the impact of our documentation, and to build strong networks and relationships.
  • Curious with an ability to learn and problem solve and navigate ambiguity in fast paced and new environment.
  • Experience in aviation industry, regulatory or unmanned aircraft system (UAS) related work.
  • Flexibility and appetite to travel internationally to support projects across the world.
Desirable
  • Familiarity and experience of working on and securing regulatory approvals.
  • Knowledge of drone regulations.
  • Experience in aviation safety and quality management.
  • Proficiency in another Asian language (e.g. Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Korean or Thai).
