Job Description


Role Responsibilities

  • A technical, hands-on DevOps engineer is required for SCB Financial Markets working in the eTrading team supporting the bank\'s FX trading business.
  • This is a multi-disciplinary role, spanning BAU and project work, from a technical and process perspective. Your primary focus will be to support existing toolset and to bring in timely enhancements to the framework.
  • You will work closely with the development, QA and production support teams to manage and continuously improve all aspects of the release/delivery process.
  • With a focus on automation and self-service you will identify areas of improvement and drive solutions through to implementation, across continuous integration, deployment, monitoring and release.
  • Candidate will be responsible in owning/managing test environments. Work closely with QA/Dev/integration testing teams to ensure that deliveries are not impacted.
  • There is a heavy emphasis on transitioning to agile processes / increasing cloud footprint in 2023 along with a higher tempo of deployments as the applications are broken down into smaller components.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 7 and more years of experience in Engineering.
  • Bachelor\'s in engineering or Higher
Skills & Technologies
Must-haves
  • Strong Scripting knowledge - Linux (bash), python, groovy
  • DevOps Tooling exposure - Jenkins, JIRA, CICD pipelines, Artifactory, Nexus etc.
  • Containerization tools - Kubernetes, Podman, Openshift K8s
  • Cloud - AWS/Azure
  • Configuration Management - ansible, puppet
  • Knowledge on Oracle Database management
  • Environment management exposure
  • Source Control tools - GIT/SVN etc.
  • Infra management/planning
Nice-to-haves
  • Release Management approach/tools
  • General Enterprise Technical Aptitude: networks, servers, load balancing, storage, etc
  • Financial Domain knowledge
Soft skills:
  • Confident and articulate communicator, a self-starter
  • Able to problem-solve at a deep level; determine the root cause of issues and design, plan, and deliver long-term strategic solutions
