Job Description

Join our Global Quantitative Equities Research team and produce thought-leading research in an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture. You will work with a global client base with a focus on institutional clients across 11 markets in Asia.

Based either in Hong Kong or Singapore with a strong focus on Asia markets, you will be responsible for independently exploring and publishing thought provoking and commercial quantitative ideas. You will engage with some of the world\'s largest quantitative and fundamental institutional asset managers, providing support, advice and assisting with ad-hoc projects. You will work with Macquarie\'s sales and trading desk as the champion of the quant product and the fundamental research team, exploring alternative datasets and quantitative methods that can enhance fundamental analysis. You will also collaborate closely with the Global Quant team in developing and maintaining quantitative equity models (e.g., multi-factor / statistical trading strategies), dealing with large and complex datasets, writing published research and discussing complex ideas with a wide range of investors.

You will have an academic background in accounting, finance, economics or engineering and ideally have gained several years of experience in financial markets as a quantitative equities research analyst. A post graduate degree (PhD or MSc) from a top-tier university and empirical research experience would be looked upon favourably.

You are experienced in using statistical programming languages (R, etc.) and preferably optimisation/risk tools (Axioma, Barra, etc.). You display a strong sense of team spirit, as well as the desire to work within a fast-paced environment, where you need to show initiative and leadership skills and have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Finally, you are a proactive individual with excellent communication and presentation skills.
