This position is forSchool of Social Sciences (SOSS). The research assistant will work closely with the PI (Principal Investigator) but in an independent manner on the following aspects:- * Mapping of burial places, cemeteries and This position is forSchool of Social Sciences (SOSS). The research assistant will work closely with the PI (Principal Investigator) but in an independent manner on the following aspects:- Mapping of burial places, cemeteries and death spaces in Singapore- Researching the natural aspects surrounding or as part of those spaces (flora and fauna) Analysing the connections and synergies between a selected number of burial sites and nature in Singapore Interviewing individuals connected with these sites in Singapore (e.g., caretakers, visitors and family members, policymakers, etc.) Mapping and understanding of the management and roles played by cemeteries (beyond their obvious one as burial spaces) in other parts of the world, in particular in urban contexts: extraction of best practices and lessons learnt in the different settings Devising management strategies and reimagining the role of burial spaces in Singapore and their natural contexts and surroundings to ensure their survival and adequate preservation Using digital recording tools such as 360-degree cameras and 3D modelling/photogrammetry software to create virtual copies of elements or structures of the sites Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Arts/Culture/Heritage Management, Humanities, Digital Humanities, Sociology, Architecture and Design, Urban Design, Computing and Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Graphics, Natural Sciences, Anthropology, or any degree relevant to the research scope. Interest in nature or in being in nature is essential as the position will require fieldwork in gardens, parks, and other outdoor facilities. Interest in cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) is essential. Previous experience with photography or imaging software (e.g., photogrammetry and 3D modelling) is an asset.
