A Research Assistant position is available immediately in Dr Anand JEYASEKHARAN\'s research group. This position is to support bioinformatics and biostatistics activities in the laboratory.

Duties And Responsibilities

To support bioinformatic analyses requested from other members of the lab. Such analyses include, but are not limited to:

Processing and analysis of sequencing data generated from procedures such as RNAseq ATACseq, and spatial analytics platforms(Digital Spatial Profiling and Stereoseq).

Sourcing, downloading, organizing and analysis of microarray, RNAseq, scRNAseq, and spatial analytics sequencing data from publicly available databases.

To support projects in spatial phenotyping and to optimize reagents where required.

To train other lab members to be proficient in rudimentary bioinformatic techniques e.g., accessing data from public databases, clean-up of procured data and performing of statistical analyses.

In addition to the above, the candidate will also be expected to conceptualize their own experimentally testable hypothesis from data analyzed and drive a single bioinformatics-based project.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Bioinformatics/Biostatistics, or related area with relevant research experience and training.

Proficient in statistical techniques commonly used in biomedical research.

Proficient in programming languages such as R or Python.

Experience with cell culture and wet lab techniques.

To be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the lab.
