Job Description




The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the study and trial on time. The RA\'s principal role will be to work in general clinical research practices such as recruitment, data collection, data entry and analysis.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will liaise with the relevant personnel in hospital to coordinate the process of recruitment and data collection and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to: * Oversee the general management of the project; responsible for conduct of study according to protocol.

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites; assist with ethics and grant applications and administration;
  • Plan, organize and coordinate the workflow of study projects to ensure compliance to study protocols; oversees subject enrolment to ensure that informed consent is properly obtained and documented.
  • Undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site, e.g. Recruitment of patients and coordinating study visits and procedures, perform study activities as required by the studies, including collection of blood, processing of blood and sending samples to researchers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities * Maintaining of study documentations and required records of study activity, including case report forms, drug dispensation records, or regulatory forms (Investigator\'s site files)
  • Prepare for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups.
  • Conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project
  • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Assist with project reports, progress updates, publications and research administations.
Qualifications

The applicant should: * Have a degree with good results in biomedical/ pharmaceutical sciences or nursing disciplines; preferably with some experience in research;
  • be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail; and
  • have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate\'s qualifications and experience.
