The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant (exercise science) position, in the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, with a working appointment at the National University Health System (NUHS) Centre for Healthy Longevity. Appointments will be on a 1-year contract in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
Purpose of the Post
The Centre for Healthy Longevity (CHL), the aging research division of the National University Health System (NUHS), aims to be a leading institute for geroscience research and translation globally, renowned for translating research into practice to improve healthspan.
The Research Assistant (exercise science) will play a key role in supporting the mission of CHL. This role is dedicated to supporting an upcoming exercise intervention research study in women with breast cancer. Critical to this position is to establish research protocols, administer data collection and analyses. Data collected from participants will include molecular, cellular, as well as physiological parameters. It is thus expected that the incumbent will have some experience in these areas. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to perform data entry, cross-checking and cleaning on a routine basis. Finally, there will be numerous opportunities for the incumbent to be involved in manuscript writing and project presentations.
The role will suit a person with a background in the exercise sciences/ life sciences/ nutritional sciences/ allied health, with strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as technical experience in delivering exercise testing protocols, such as running cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). The successful incumbent will also be expected to engage with internal & external stakeholders and enjoys managing multiple demands and competing deadlines.
