The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant (Health Data Analyst) in the Division of Community Family and Child Health, Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Division of Community Family and Child Health (CFCH)\'s mission is to use data on family and child health in collaborative and imaginative ways so that it enables the division to develop innovative solutions and assure programmes to deliver family and child-oriented service public health to residents in the Western cluster of Singapore.
The Department of Paediatrics has a strong and firm foundation in teaching and research, which translates into good clinical care. Its principal teaching facility is at the Khoo Teck Puat-National University Children\'s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI) at the National University Hospital (NUH).
Through structured teaching and training programmes, the department (together with KTP-NUCMI) provides paediatric training at the under-graduate and post-graduate levels to young doctors from Singapore and from the region.
Apart from providing medical education in paediatrics, the department is also committed to the advancement of paediatric scientific research in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. The department\'s key research areas include cancer, genetics, immunology, metabolic diseases and cardiac health as well as studies on child and family population health, disease trends, health outcomes and neurocognitive development problems. Appointments will be made on a 2 yearly contract basis with possibility of extension depending on performance.
Purpose of the Post
The CFCH\'s Health Intelligence Team\'s data analyst is responsible for leading the Family and Child Public Health Intelligence function within the organisation. This role will lead on developing a suite of key needs assessments that cover a wide range of thematic areas and will involve extensive engagement with external stakeholders. One of the key responsibilities for this role is the further improve the evidence base used to inform effective commissioning and intervention strategies. This includes creating area profiles, needs assessments and interactive dashboards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
This role will also be responsible for ensuring all public health statutory returns are completed on time. The CFCH\'s Data Analyst\'s role will also identify opportunities for improvement in Family and Child Health outcomes across the organisation through analysis and support services to implement any changes including the adoption of new technological solutions.
