Job Description

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) established in September 2010 is a partnership between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The school operates from two campuses \xe2\x80\x93 Yunnan Campus at Nanyang Technological University and a new campus to be built at Novena. Our primary healthcare partner is the National Healthcare Group (NHG) which comprises an integrated network of primary healthcare polyclinics, acute care hospitals such as Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and national specialist centers. LKCMedicine delivers a new five-year undergraduate medical programme leading to a joint MBBS degree awarded by Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University.

We are currently recruiting a Research Assistant who will be working closely with Prof Laurent Renia.

The appointed research assistant will assist studies in the cellular and molecular mechanisms of erythrocyte invasion by Plasmodium parasites.

The research assistant will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities.

-1-2 years of experience as a research assistant a microbiology field (BSL-2) is required. Experience with in vivo work (rodents) is also required.

Key Responsibilties:

Lead research projects

Identify new pairs of Plasmodium/red blood cells pairs

Define Plasmodium protein/receptors interactions

Competencies and Requirements:

Bachelor in Biological/Biomedical Sciences with expertise in virology or infectious diseases (BSL-2 or BSL-3 microorganisms).

At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as Research Assistant

Expertise in tissue culture, immunology, parasitology, and molecular biology
