The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for \xe2\x80\x9cThe Role of Novel Auto-Antibodies in Small Fiber Neuropathy\xe2\x80\x9d, Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. This project aims to study patients with small fiber neuropathy and the role of novel antibodies in the pathophysiology of the disease. This project is translational and will involve recruitment of patients from the small fiber neuropathy and neuromuscular clinics from National University Hospital, and testing the blood samples and skin biopsy samples for immunological compounds. NUH is the only center in Singapore with a comprehensive neurodiagnostic laboratory and clinic to diagnose and manage patients with SFN, and they work closely with the Immunology Program at NUS for research. Appointments will be made on a 12-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension.
Purpose of the post
The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the study on time. The RA\'s principal role will be to work in the Neurology wards or clinics for patient recruitment, data collection, data entry, analysis, and to run laboratory tests at NUS to run various immunological tests like cell culture, Western Blot, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry, etc.
