Job Description
This position as a Research Assistant will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience in both quantitative and qualitative research. You will be able to hone your skills in designing surveys or experiments, handling large datasets, data analysis, and causal inference. It is a good opportunity to learn and build your technical skills as data analyst or researcher. If you are interested in a future career in data analytics or graduate studies in economics, this research assistantship will also give you the relevant training and exposure.
This is a full-time position from June 2023 on a one-year renewable contract.
Job Responsibilities
The Research Assistant will assist Professor Ivan Png in applied microeconomic research. Duties include assisting with fieldwork, compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing. Current projects include field experiments among taxi drivers and knowledge workers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Honours degree in economics, business, or related discipline.
- Skilled in programming and statistics.
- Willing to work independently, diligently, and learn.
- You should work well with others and can speak English and Mandarin as this would be necessary for conducting interviews as part of the fieldwork of the study.
