Literature Review, Case Identification and GenAI application
Conduct a comprehensive literature review on existing GenAI applications in cultural heritage reconstruction, with a focus on identifying groundbreaking work and methodologies.
Identify and document local and regional Southeast Asian (SEA) case studies where GenAI could potentially play a role in narrative reconstruction.
The Research Associate will develop sound knowledge in the application of GenAI for and cultural artifact reconstruction, with an emphasis on sensitivity to historical and cultural nuances.
Preliminary Research and Methodology Development
Based on the literature review and identified cases, develop an interdisciplinary methodology model tailored to the local and SEA context. This involves specifying GenAI technologies and techniques suitable for narrative reconstruction.
Engage in data collection, which may include digital archives, oral histories, and other relevant materials.
Analysing data, which may include cultural anthropological approaches.
Drafting a framework for GenAI\'s application in these case studies, considering ethical, and cultural preservation aspects.
Grant Preparation, Proposal Writing and Submission to Funding Agency (NHB)
Compile the research, methodology, case studies, and stakeholder feedback (if any) into a comprehensive grant proposal for funding opportunity to the NHB\'s Heritage Research Grant (HRG).
Develop a detailed project timeline, budget, and objectives for the grant proposal, emphasising the impact on cultural heritage preservation and narrative reconstruction in SEA.
Asist PI to review and refine the proposal to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment with funding body priorities.
