Ltd. Ligature is seed-funded biotech start-up that is focused on developing small-molecule protein degraders using a unique fragment-based drug discovery platform. We are focused on creating a new generation of tumor-selective targeted protein degraders for the treatment of underserved cancers. The successful candidate will be expected to design and perform cell-based and biochemical assays that contribute to the advancement of novel therapeutics. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining lab infrastructure, collecting and analyzing data, and generally contributing to a positive and productive lab culture. The candidate must possess: 1. A master's degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry or a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience. 2. Experience with cell culture technique and cell-based assays is essential. 3. An ability to work independently and to proactively drive the project toward its objectives. 4. Creativity and troubleshooting skills. 5. A flexible work schedule. 6. Good laboratory skills and record keeping of experimental data. 7. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 8. A sincere interest in science and a desire to work in a growing start-up environment. Duties/responsibilities: Work closely with senior research staff in executing Ligature's drug discovery plans. Work with Ligature's Research Scientists (Biology) in execution of relevant biological assays such as western blot, immunoprecipitation, and other cell-based bioassays. Assist in the recording, analyzing and interpretation of experimental data. Assist in the drafting and reporting of experimental results to Ligature's scientific leadership. Assist in the generation and maintenance of cell lines in the lab. Upkeep and maintenance of lab equipment and associated peripherals. Purchasing and tracking inventory of lab consumables.
