Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated experienced (Senior) Research Associate to join our Target and Assay Biology group III (TAB3) @ EDDC, A*STAR. As the national platform for drug discovery, we partner with various research institutions within Singapore's biomedical landscape to pioneer next-generation drugs for diseases of high unmet medical need.
Principle Roles & Responsibilities:
Design and execute experiments involving cancer cell lines, primary human (PBMCs) and mouse immune cells in co-culture assays with minimal supervision.
Establish and optimize in vitro biochemical and cellular assays for screening of drug candidates.
Prepare standard operating procedures and document study reports.
Provide technical support for certain experimental procedures and serve as point of contact for the operation of intricate instruments.
Coordinate with various functions within EDDC to advance project goals.
With guidance from PhD level scientist(s), interpret results and present to team members at internal bi-weekly meetings.
Required Competencies:

• At least a Bachelor of Science in Cancer Biology, Immunology, Cell and Molecular Biology and/or related disciplines with 2-3 years of working experience in pharmaceutical/industry setting
• Demonstrated scientific and technical expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular assays.
• Familiarity with automated screening platforms for cell-killing assays is a plus
• Experience in working with 3D cell cultures is an added advantage
• Have a good understanding of assay development with ample hands-on experience in research or drug discovery/development settings.
• Independent problem solving, collaboration and teamwork across various functions are required.
• Techniques include but not limited to cellular phenotyping, cell activation, differentiation and proliferation assessment, qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, reporter cell line generation and molecular cloning.
