The Department of Research at SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP) is looking for a full-time Research Associate (RA) to support research projects under the Primary Care arm of JARVIS-DHL, a AISG-funded collaboration between SingHealth and NUS which aims to The Department of Research at SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP) is looking for a full-time Research Associate (RA) to support research projects under the Primary Care arm of JARVIS-DHL, a AISG-funded collaboration between SingHealth and NUS which aims to transform chronic care for Diabetes, Hypertension and hyperLipidemia leveraging on Artificial Intelligence. Our team has developed a PERsonalised DIabetes Counselling Tool using Artificial Intelligence (PERDICT.AI) together with NUS. This is a prototype tool which provides personalised information about the severity of one's diabetes, predicts future risk of diabetes complications using similarity analytics, and provides algorithm-based medication recommendations. The information is used to support primary care doctors in risk communication and shared decision making with patients who have diabetes, so as to motivate patients to adopt protective behaviours to improve their diabetes control and prevent diabetes complications. The RA will work closely with the Department of Research's team of clinician-researchers and their administrative staff, to ensure the successful implementation of PERDICT.AI and other research projects the team will be embarking on. The RA's principal role is to assist in planning and executing research-related tasks to ensure the research projects are implemented in a manner that is scientific and ethical, according to the proposed plans, timelines and budget. The position is a 1-year contract and could be extended with good performance. Contracted staff will be based on the Department of Research and various SingHealth Polyclinic sites where research is being carried out. Roles & Responsibilities: Perform research field work and activities - such as site visits, screening and recruitment of study participants, conduct interviews, data collection, administration of questionnaires, reporting of adverse events, data entry and verification, data analysis (quantitative data using SPSS, qualitative data using NVivo), interview transcription Assist in preparing research proposals and journal publications Conduct literature reviews for existing and future research projects Preparing and monitoring research ethics application and post-approval reporting Preparing and monitoring research budget, working with the team to ensure timely and ethical sourcing and procurement Provide administrative and secretarial support - such as organising project meetings, maintaining study site files and documents, preparing progress reports and final reports of projects Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with institutional policies and procedures Assist with other duties delegated by the PI or team Qualifications / Job Requirements: Postgraduate qualification(s) in healthcare (especially behavioural psychology, clinical psychology, healthcare economics) or economics (especially healthcare economics) or equivalent/related disciplines Proficient in English including spoken and academic writing Proficient in office computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Displays team spirit, interpersonal and communication skills and able to apply critical thinking skills to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment Organised and able to multi-task and attention switch Proactive, teachable and willing to learn Will be preferred if has any of the following: Prior experience in research field work and activities (see above) Prior experience working in a healthcare setting (especially primary care) Knowledge and/or prior experience in programming (especially Python, Anaconda), Artificial Intelligence, or digital health and technological adoption
