The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 24-month contract at theProject Title: Disability MattersProject Introduction: This is a major international project that brings together disabled researchers and disabled peoples organisations from across the globe including Australia, Canada, India, Singapore and the UK. The team aims to deliver a number of ambitious expected outcomes:Intellectual transformation in health research scholarship through an engagement with critical disability studies and the expertise of disabled peoplePan-national understanding of the common and differential health priorities of disabled people across four continentsTransformation of health research methods to ensure the meaningful inclusion of disabled people as researchers and participantsPromotion of more inclusive health research environments, cultures and systems through a focus on disability and other protected characteristicsReframing the representation of disability in healthcare research, dissemination and public engagementRaising the capacities of disabled and disability-positive early career health researchersGenerating transformative equity, diversity and inclusion knowledge that supports Wellcomes strategy to lead the sector in challenging ableism and disablism in the practices and cultures of health researchRequirements:At least a Masters degree, PhD preferred. Candidates with PhD may be considered for a Research Fellow position.At least 3 years professional experience preferably in related fieldsAble to carry out literature reviewAble to write reports and academic papersAble to design, conduct, and analyze surveysExperience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis (include processing of data such as data entry and transcription)Experience with stakeholder engagement and/or co-production in researchExperience working with disabled people and/or their representative organisationsExperience with public engagement and dissemination of information in various forms, such as participant events and interviewsExperience with working well as part of a team and taking responsibility for delivering a specific roleOrganisational skills; such as time management, planning and prioritisation of tasksKnowledge and understanding of ethical procedures and data protection and management regulationExcellent verbal and communication skills, including the ability to present information in a range of formats to meet the needs of different audiences (for example reports, journal articles, audio and film)Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:Lead in project management and managing timelines and KPIs.Design and conduct surveys and interviewsData collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative dataReview literature and summarize key findingsSupport the PI and Programme Manager to deliver online events, such as Online Symposia and Online ConversationsSupport in editing, publicising, seeking contributions, and writing for the projects related publications (online/printed)Liaise with the Disability Matters team to collate and generate knowledge exchange that informs policy, strategy and practice of health research and research cultureCapture and disseminate findings from the Disability Matters team that promotes discussions and debates about the centrality of disability to matters of Equality, Diversity and InclusionLiaise and collaborate with stakeholders and partners.Liaise closely with the research team, and relevant professional staff throughout the projectPerform any other work as assigned by the PIApplicationApplicants (external and internal) will apply via Workday.
