Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, SingaporeThe School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.The laboratory of Professor Nelly Ng at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences is seeking a Research Associate to conduct research in the area of quantum thermodynamics, in particular for areas of interest such as (but not limited to) many-body quantum systems and/or catalytic resource theories. This is in line with the mission of the university to work on cutting-edge research topics that are of both fundamental and practical importance.Key Responsibilities:The candidate is expected to, but not limited to, engage in the following research directions:Utilize techniques and tools in quantum information theory in the study of quantum thermodynamicsConduct research in understanding the fundamental limits of controlling out-of-equilibrium quantum systemsJob Requirements:Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree, in the area of quantum information and quantum thermodynamicsConsistent research track record in terms of publication for the above areas of study.
