We are looking for a Research Associate – Power and Renewables to join Wood Mackenzie’s Asia Pacific Power and Renewables research team in Singapore. This role will be part of our global Power & Renewables team which is a rapidly expanding and highly respected group of industry experts who produce market-leading research on onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage, power markets, electric vehicles, hydrogen and other emerging technologies. This role has a broad scope to support research tasks across a range of energy and power technologies. You will have opportunities to work with industry thought leaders and develop knowledge and skills in data analysis, modelling, forecasting, writing and communication, technology assessment, finance and systems analysis. You will be rotated through a number of data and research roles and gain exposure to colleagues working across the value chain. Key focus areas will include manufacturing and supply chains, renewable project investment and economics, policy analysis, and gathering data on key players in power markets. Responsibilities of the role will include the gathering and analysing data, identify market trends, drafting reports and deliverables, and contributing to cutting edge work on global energy transition trends. Wood Mackenzie has a dynamic and expanding team in the Asia Pacific with offices spanning Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Australia, India and Southeast Asia. These diverse markets already dominate global electricity demand, are expected to contribute two thirds of future demand growth, and play a leading role in deployment of new technologies such as renewable energy and battery storage. Qualifications
You are excited about exploring challenging and complex topics and have exceptional quantitative skills either through a business, economics, engineering, science or similar background. You are a strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills. You are organised, have strong data analysis skills, an analytical mindset and an eye for detail. You have strong written and verbal communication skills including in written and spoken English. This role is suitable for someone who is a graduate from a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. degree and is an excellent opportunity to build a career in the power and renewables sector working with a global team of experts and wide range of industry players. We are open to considering candidates with a variety of backgrounds and interests. The position is based in Singapore.
