ISCE2 is seeking a talented Research Engineer to be part of the multi-disciplinary team to develop cutting edge technology for the manufacturing of specialty products or pharmaceuticals. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the interface of organic chemistry and biocatalysis to develop new biocatalysts for more streamlined synthesis of complex molecules. The candidate will contribute towards the synthesis of the substrates and target molecules or intermediates, screening and characterization of biocatalysts, and the development of HTP assays for the biocatalytic reactions. The ideal candidate is passionate about science and sustainability, enjoys laboratory work, self-motivated, organised, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate may be responsible for but not limited to:
Synthesis of relevant molecules for screening studies
Development of analytical or HTP assay methods for hits validation
Support screening, biocatalysts characterization and hits validation efforts
Investigate and characterize parameters of biocatalytic reactions
Generate, analyze and present data to the team
Participate in the development of project strategy and communicates results within a multi disciplinary team
Presentation at regular project meetings; and to internal/external collaborators
Presentation and review of relevant literature
Other duties as assigned by the manager
Job Requirements:
BSc or master\xe2\x80\x99s in chemistry, Catalysis or its equivalent
Good technical competency and knowledge in synthetic and organic chemistry or catalysis
Proficiency in analytical techniques like HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, NMR
Background knowledge of chemistry, biotechnology, and/or protein engineering would be advantageous
Experience and preference for hands-on experimental work in a laboratory
Experience with analytical techniques such as biochemical assays, spectroscopy and chromatography is advantageous
Adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements
Rigorous data analysis and interpretation skills
Excellent oral/written communication, documentation and organization skills
Meticulous, attention to details and organized
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
